David Valencia and Tina Valencia of V Collective San Diego
David Valencia
Owner, Stylist & Educator

With a career in hair that spans over 20 years, David Valencia has established himself as an industry leader in San Diego. As co-owner and educational director of dk hair for 12 years, he has brought his wealth of knowledge and success to his newest endeavor, V Collective. While known for his artistic vision and hailed as the curly hair guru, David has earned a reputation built on technique and skill.

Since education has always been an integral part of David’s career, it is no surprise that hairstyling’s iconic legend, Vidal Sassoon serves as his greatest influence. Always pushing the industry standard, David has forged relationships with local and international educational institutions, ensuring his team remains at the forefront of the industry.

Inspired by architecture, nature and fashion, David is accustomed to translating his vision into an individualized look that connects his client’s personality and lifestyle. Making a difference in people from the way they look to how they feel motivates his love and passion for the industry.

Tina Valencia
Owner, Stylist & Educator

Known for her simple yet modern approach to hair, and precision dry cutting techniques, Tina’s innate talent allows her to execute shapes and color that grow out beautifully.

Coming from generations of educators, education inevitably runs through her veins. As a prodigal student that devours education she is an active participant in education from taking classes to teaching classes and becoming a Bumble and Bumble network educator over the past 12 years, she is now an elite member of the creative counsel for R+Co.

From sleek and shiny, short and edgy, to perfectly undone beachy waves, Tina’s expert skill set combined with her natural ability to connect to people, enables her to interpret non-hairdressing lingo. She prides herself in really listening to her clients, understanding their needs and respecting their hair.

The connections and relationships built by those magical moments in transforming how a person feels, remains her most loved aspect of the industry.
